Swaran Jayanti Ashraya Yojana in HP Budget 2025-26
On 17th March 2025, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu who is also the Finance Minister presented Himachal Pradesh Budget 2025-26. While delivering the HP Budget Speech 2025-2026, the hon’ble Finance Minister said “Speaker Sir, our Government is running numerous welfare schemes for the well-being of all sections of society. Currently, there are 8 pension schemes operating in the field of social security within the State. Under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana, financial assistance is being provided to women. The ‘Swarn Jayanti Ashray Yojana’ offers financial support for house construction to eligible homeless individuals from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.”
Under the Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana (SJAY), financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh is provided to homeless eligible individuals from SC, ST and OBC for the construction of new houses. Eligibility Criteria for HP Swarna Jayanti Ashraya Yojana
Applicant should be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
The applicant should belong to either Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST) or Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
Applicant’s annual family income, from all sources, must not exceed Rs. 50,000 per anum.
The applicant should not have his own house.
The land in the applicant’s name should be in the revenue record for the construction of the house.
