Himachal Pradesh government has announced to launch Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana for upto 2 girls born in below poverty line (BPL) households. The main objective of this scheme is to provide monetary benefits to girl child and life insurance to their parents. Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana in HP Budget 2025-26

On 17th March 2025, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu who is also the Finance Minister presented Himachal Pradesh Budget 2025-26. While delivering the HP Budget Speech 2025-2026, the hon’ble Finance Minister said “Speaker Sir, I announce the Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana for two girls born in BPL families. This scheme will further strengthen the Beti Hai Anmol Yojana wherein Rs. 25,000 will be deposited with an insurance company at the time of the girl’s birth. Additionally, the girl’s parents will be provided with life insurance benefits worth ₹2 lakh per parent. The maturity amount of the insurance will be payable to the girl when she turns 18 or, at her discretion, by the age of 27.”

Finance Minister added “I am pleased to state that the Sex Ratio at Birth in the State has shown continuous improvement, increasing from 947 in 2023 to 964 in 2024. This is the result of the persistent efforts and successful implementation of various schemes by the Himachal Pradesh Government in this area.”

HP Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana Apply Online 2025

Just like other schemes for the welfare of girl child, the state govt. of Himachal Pradesh will soon invite Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana online application form 2025. Parents of upto 2 girl child belonging to BPL category shall fill the registration form to make registration for both monetary benefits for girls and life insurance benefits for themselves. As the scheme has just been announced, the official apply online process is still not known.

It is expected that the Himachal Pradesh government will start a dedicated portal for the Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha scheme for girl child of BPL families. Eligibility Criteria for HP Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Scheme

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh state.
• Applicant must be a parent of upto 2 girls.
• Only those parents who belong to below poverty line (BPL) category shall be eligible.
