Under Shramik Annpurna Yojna, the registered construction worker is eligible to get nutritious meals at concessional rates at the workplace or on Kadianaka. Registered construction workers and their family members can get the benefit. If the construction worker is not registered, then he/she along with their family members are not eligible. Moreover, any person can even visit either Common Service Centers (CSC) or E-Village Center or Dhanvantari Arogya Rath or E-Shram Seva Kendras to get registered as a construction worker in Gujarat state. It is worth noting that getting e-nirman card (getting registered as contruction worker) is the sole requirement to get benefit of Shramik Annapurna scheme.
How to Get Meals under Shramik Annapoorna Yojana
- Meals can be obtained by the workers with the help of an e-Nirman card at all centers of Shramik Annapurna.
- By scanning the QR code, one can get a one-time meal as a tiffin or on the spot.
- The beneficiaries, who do not have an e-Nirman card, are registered temporarily at the booth and then they can get food for 15 days. Within this duration, they must complete their Shramik Annapurna Yojana online registration.

Meals under Shramik Annapurna Yojana in Gujarat
Under Shramik Annapurna Yojana, workers are provided with meals that include items such as pulses, potatoes, mixed vegetables, roti (Indian bread), rice, lentils/dal, jaggery, and once a week, sukhadi (a sweet dish) or sheera (a sweet semolina dessert) is also given. Each meal is subsidized by the government and workers receive a complete meal for just Rs 5, with the government providing a subsidy of Rs. 37 for each meal.

Update As on 20 December 2024: In Gujarat state, the Shramik Annapurna Yojana launched by CM Bhupendra Patel has played an important role in upliftment of construction workers lives. Inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s vision, the Rs. 5 meal scheme provides 32,000 daily meals via 290 centres across 19 districts, with free health check-ups and QR-enabled accessibility. This initiative reflect the state govt’s commitment to the dignity and welfare of its labour force.
Shramik Annapurna Yojana in Gujarat Budget 2024-2025
Update As on 2 February 2024: Finance Minister has delivered Gujarat Budget Speech 2024-2025 on 2 February 2024 in which FM said “Under the Shramik Annapurna Yojana, 273 centres are currently running to provide healthy meals to the labourers at a nominal rate of Rs. 5. In these centres, on an average more than 40,000 labourers eat every day. Under this scheme, 100 new food distribution centres will be started. A provision of Rs. 131 crore for this scheme”.
