What is Telangana Rythu Bharosa Scheme?

As per the issued Telangana Rythu Bharosa Scheme guidelines, lands suitable for agriculture (cultivation) only will be eligible. Lands that are not suitable for cultivation, including those designated for industrial use or real estate will no longer be given the support amount. Under the Telangana Rythu Bharosa scheme, farmers will receive annual financial support of Rs. 12,000 per acre (Rs. 6000 per season for each acre). The scheme is designed to provide investment support to farmers through direct cash benefit to be used for purchasing seeds and fertilizers.

Gathering of Data of TG Rythu Bharosa Beneficiaries

The Telangana Rythu Bharosa guidelines further said that the responsibility will be entrusted to the revenue officials for gathering data on land suited for cultivation at the village level through the gram sabhas. The scheme and guidelines will be explained to the people in the village meetings.

The Rythu Bharosa scheme was announced by the Congress before the elections as one of its major promises where it promised to enhance the support to ₹15,000 per acre from ₹10,000 per acre per year. However, due to financial constraints, the government has decided to enhance it to ₹12,000.

Telangana Rythu Bharosa Scheme Status – How to Check?

The state government on 10th Feb 2025 released the 3rd tranche of Rs. 1,091 crore to farmers having up to 2 acres of land, thereby completing the process of depositing the enhanced Rythu Bharosa assistance for this category. With this, the government has covered 34.69 lakh beneficiaries who cultivate an area of 36.97 lakh acres. The cost to the state exchequer so far has been Rs. 2,218.49 crore. No eligible beneficiary is left out of the scheme benefits.

Rythu Bharosa is envisaged to provide crop assistance of Rs. 6,000 for acre per season for cultivable land. As there are 2 seasons in a year, so annual financial assistance would be Rs. 12000 per acre. The government is paying Rs 6,000 per acre per season, Rs. 1,000 more than the Rythu Bandhu of the BRS government. Telangana state govt. had so far spent Rs. 55,526 crore for farmers. Of this, Rs 40,000 crore was deposited directly into the accounts of farmers.

Telangana Rythu Bharosa Scheme List 2025

  • Officials are instructed to thoroughly review the Telangana Rythu Bharosa Scheme beneficiary list before visiting the villages.
  • The lists must strictly adhere to government guidelines, ensuring that only 100% eligible beneficiaries are included.
  • Any ineligible individuals must be excluded from Scheme List.
  • Applications received during the Gram Sabhas should also be reviewed, and eligible names added to the Telangana Rythu Bharosa list.
  • TG govt. would emphasize that every eligible individual in the village should benefit from these welfare schemes without fail.
  • Stringent measures should be taken to prevent any ineligible persons from accessing the benefits.
  • Telangana govt. is ensuring that the process is free from complaints or criticisms by adhering strictly to government rules and ensuring fairness in beneficiary selection.
  • This initiative aims to bring tangible benefits to eligible beneficiaries across the district.

Note – Given the criticism that the BRS misused Rythu Bandhu to the tune of ₹22,000 crore in the six years by transferring the money to lands not under cultivation and also to hillocks and lands turned into roads and commercial enterprises, the government has decided to exclude these groups for the benefit.

Rythu Bharosa Scheme in Telangana Budget 2024-25

On 10th February 2024, Finance Minister presented Telangana Budget 2024-25 in which FM said “The Rythu Bandhu was introduced by the previous Government with the stated aim of giving investment/input assistance to the farmer. Though it is a welcome gesture it is unfortunate that this assistance went into the pockets of the rich landlords and ineligible people. Rythu Bandhu assistance was given to lands that were not cultivable, lands that had hillock areas, and even for roads. The biggest beneficiaries were landlords owning huge tracts of lands but who never cultivated them and also real estate dealers holding thousands of acres. The government went against its own GO. Realizing this, we decided to review the scheme and implement Rythu Bharosa to the actually eligible beneficiaries @ Rs 15000 per acre. We also promised to include the tenant farmers who were left in the lurch by the previous government”.

FM further stated “Further, our government is committed to implement Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma houses, Cheyutha and Yuva Vikasam. We are committed to implement them at the earliest. In this budget, we have proposed Rs. 53,196 crores, for implementation of Congress 6 Guarantee schemes. Provision of additional funds will be made as required, once a complete assessment is made about the schemes”.
