Jharkhand government has launched Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana on 28th February 2025. Under this scheme, the state govt. will provide health insurance to state employees, their dependents, retired employees, MLAs, former MLAs, university teachers, registered advocates etc. The new health insurance scheme for employees will be implemented from 1st March 2025. Jharkhand Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana Status 2025

From 1st March 2025, Jharkhand govt. has started implementing Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana for state employees. The current status of implementation of this health insurance scheme for employees is ACTIVE. There are around 1,63,931 state government employees and scheme has been operational for these employees.

However for dependents of employees, retired employees, MLAs, former MLAs, university teachers, registered advocates, the scheme’s current status is CLOSED. The state govt. will start implementing Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana for these categories from 1st May 2025. It is because the Jharkhand govt. has no available data of people in these categories and is now calculating their total numbers.

Once the official statistics are out, then the Jharkhand Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana status will become ACTIVE for all categories not before 1st May in any case.

CM Hemant Soren on 28th Feb 2025 wrote on his X (formerly twitter) handle that “आज राज्य कर्मियों, सेवानिवृत्त कर्मियों एवं अधिवक्ताओं के स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षा हेतु राज्यकर्मी स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना के शुभारंभ कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुआ। वर्तमान समय में लोगों की स्वास्थ्य समस्या बढ़ रही है। खान-पान, रहन-सहन और कार्य प्रणाली की जो व्यवस्था है उसमें हर कोई किसी ने किसी स्वास्थ्य समस्या से ग्रसित है। आज इलाज का पैमाना आसमान छू रहा है। जैसा अस्पताल, चिकित्सक वैसे खर्च। बड़े-बड़े अस्पतालों, चिकित्सकों, दवाओं और मशीनों के भरोसे जीवन चल रहा है। पूर्व में राज्य कर्मियों को पुरानी पेंशन योजना का अधिकार दिया गया, आज उसी तरह इन्हें स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना से जोड़ा गया है। राज्य कर्मियों, पेंशनधारियों, अधिवक्तगण और उनके आश्रितों को इस योजना का लाभ मिलेगा। आप सभी को इस अवसर पर बहुत-बहुत बधाई और जोहार।”

Amount for Jharkhand Health Insurance Scheme for Employees

While launching the scheme, CM said “Jharkhand government employees of any category need not worry about their medical expenses. The state govt. will bear the entire cost of their treatment by a dedicated health insurance scheme. As the government provided financial support to its employees even after retirement by restoring the old pension scheme, it has taken a big step to bear the entire cost of treatment of its employees through the State Employees Health Insurance Scheme”.

Under the new Jharkhand Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana, beneficiaries will be able to avail cashless treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh in any hospital in the country. In case of serious diseases, medical expenses up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided, according to an official release. The scheme has come into effect from March 1, 2025 for state employees and will be extended to other categories from 1 May 2025.

Key Features of Jharkhand State Employees Health Insurance Scheme

• All types of incurable, chronic and other diseases will be treated in all the big hospitals of the country.
• Premium amount will be Rs 4850, Tata AIG Insurance Company is the insurance company.
• Patients will also be treated cashless, insurance company will provide insurance card.
• This scheme of Jharkhand has been made simpler and better as compared to other states.
• The sum insured will be a minimum of Rs 5 lakh and a maximum of Rs 10 lakh.
• For serious illness, treatment up to Rs 10 lakh will be given under Jharkhand Rajya Karmi Swasthya Bima Yojana.
• Rs 500 will be deducted from the medical allowance only.
