Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar Yojana in Odisha Budget 2025-26
On 17th February 2025, Finance Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has presented Odisha Budget 2025-26. While delivering the budget speech, the hon’ble FM said “I propose Rs. 139 crore under Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar scheme to reward the best-performing districts, blocks, schools, and stakeholders. The initiative promotes community engagement, fosters healthy competition, and aspires to make high school and elementary education systems more effective and aspirational, encouraging synergy among schools and administrative units for better outcomes. Considering the important service rendered by teachers, the State Government has recently enhanced the remuneration of Junior Teachers for which provision has been made in this Budget”.
Select award type as either ‘Individual’ or ‘Institutional’ and then select award name. For instance, we have selected award type as institutional and then we have selected award name as Elementary School.

Naveen Patnaik, launched the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar Yojana initially on 16 November 2022 for all participants in the public education system, for their outstanding efforts in achieving academic brilliance and holistic development of schools. This Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar recognizes the value of meritorious students not only in the field of academics but also in co-curricular fields. It also highlights the good work of educators and other key stakeholders in government and govt. aided schools who not only help in creating informed and active citizens but also go beyond their duty to inspire students to aspire and dream for greater heights.
The Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar honours more than 50,000 Students, 1,500 Principals, the School Management Committee, alumni, the Gram Panchayat, and the District Administrators. The State Government’s Mo School Abhiyan is identified as the nodal agency to rollout the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar from the session 2023-2024. Mo School is a citizen-government partnership in which the former leads in designing the programme, defining its goals and directing its implementation.
The introduction of Mukhyamantri Sikhya Puraskar, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, supplements the transformative initiatives in school education sector in Odisha, thereby empowering its learners, educators, teachers, head teachers, alumni, PRI members, SMC/SMDC members and education administrators.
