Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme in Haryana Budget 2025-26
On 17th March 2025, Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Haryana, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini presented Haryana Budget 2025-26. While delivering the Haryana Budget Speech 2025-2026, the hon’ble Finance Minister said “Under the Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana, I propose to increase the subsidy for farmers who give up paddy cultivation from ₹7,000 per acre to ₹8,000 per acre. Along with this, Gram Panchayats that leave their cultivable land vacant instead of leasing it for paddy cultivation will also be provided with this incentive amount”.

The online registration for Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana are invited by Haryana government at MFMB portal. In order to apply for the crop diversification programme, farmers can make registration and login at the Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal which can be accessed through the direct link – https://fasal.haryana.gov.in/

Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme is a crop diversification programme launched by the state govt. of Haryana. Diversification in Agriculture refers to the change in the regional dominance of a crop to meet the increasing demand for cereals, pulses, vegetables, fruits, oilseeds, animal feed and grass etc. Its purpose is to improve the dynamic balance of soil health and agro-friendly system.
The purpose of crop diversification through MPMV scheme is to promote the latest technology along with sustainable agriculture. Furthermore, it aims enable the farmers to choose alternative crops for increasing their productivity and income.

Crops to be Grown in Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme
Under Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme, farmers are given a grant of 7000 per acre with the aim of reducing the area of paddy in the state and promoting alternate crops, even in case of fallow land. These crops may include maize, cotton, Kharif Oilseed, Kharif Pulses, Kharif onion, Fodder crops, Horticulture/ vegetable crops.
Activities under Haryana Crop Diversification Programme
3 types of activities have been identified under the Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme (Crop Diversification Programme) in Haryana:-
Cluster demonstration of alternative crops: Cluster demonstration of maize crop.
Site specific activities: Distribution of DHaincha seeds to improve soil health and providing assistance to farmers on water saving techniques.
Awareness, Training, Implementation and Monitoring: Along with the evaluation of the plan, promotion of various activities, dissemination of information and awareness activities such as organizing Kisan Melas and seminars.
