Janata Juth Aksmat Vima Yojana in Gujarat Budget 2025-26
Gujarat’s Finance Minister, Shri Kanu Desai, presented the Budget 2025-26 digitally on 20th February 2025 using the National eVidhan Application (NeVA) at the State Assembly. It marks a significant step towards paperless governance. While delivering the budget speech, FM said “More than 4 crore 45 lakh beneficiaries including destitute widows, farmers, individuals involved in animal husbandry, unorganized workers, students at schools/colleges, persons with disabilities and sanitation workers have been included in the ‘Janata Juth Aksmat Veema Yojana’. Presently, this scheme offers insurance coverage ranging from ₹ 50 thousand to ₹ 2 lakh. I propose a significant increase in this coverage ranging from ₹ 2 lakh to ₹ 4 lakh.”
Gujarat Akasmat Vima Yojana Eligibility
To be eligible for the Gujarat Aksmat Vima Yojana, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:-
The death or disability must be the result of an accident.
The death or disability must occur between the ages of 5 and 70.
In case of a vehicular accident, the deceased or injured person must have a valid driving license.
The application must be submitted to the concerned authorities within 150 days of the accident.
The death or disability must not be due to natural causes or suicide.

However in the Gujarat budget 2025-26, the state’s finance minister proposed to significantly increase this coverage ranging from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh.
