Ganga Swarupa Yojana in Gujarat Budget 2025-26
Gujarat’s Finance Minister, Shri Kanu Desai, presented the Budget 2025-26 digitally on 20th February 2025 using the National eVidhan Application (NeVA) at the State Assembly. It marks a significant step towards paperless governance. While delivering the budget speech, FM said “A provision of ₹ 3,015 crore under the Ganga Swaroopa Arthik Sahay Yojana to provide monthly assistance of ₹ 1,250 to widows through DBT”.

Ganga Swarupa Arthik Sahay Yojana Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a permanent resident of the Gujarat state.
Applicant must be a widow woman.
Only those applicants who are above the age of 18 years can apply.
Annual income of the family of the applicant, from all sources, must not exceed Rs. 1,20,000 in rural areas and Rs. 1,50,000 in urban areas.

મંજૂરીની પ્રક્રિયાઃ
ફોર્મમાં જણાવેલ પુરાવા અને વિગત સાથેનું ફોર્મ ભરી તાલુકા મામલતદારને રજુ કરવાનું હોય છે. મામલતદારશ્રી દ્વારા ચકાસણી કરી સહાય મંજુર કરવામાં આવે છે.
Ganga Swaroop Yojana was earlier known with the name of Vidhva Sahay Yojana in which Rs. 1000 were given as monthly pension amount to widows. In April 2019, Gujarat government had raised the pension from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,250 per month and renamed it as Ganga Swarupa Arthik Sahay Yojana. The pension amount under the new Ganga Swarupa Yojana gets deposited in the 1st week of every month.
In earlier Vidhwa Sahay Yojana, annual income criteria for women residing in rural areas was Rs. 47000 which has now increased to Rs. 1,20,000 per annum in the new Ganga Swarupa version of the scheme. Moreover the annual income criteria for women residing in urban areas was Rs. 68,000 which has now increased to Rs. 1,50,000 per annum. This resulted in increase in number of beneficiaries from 1.64 lakh to 3.70 lakh.
