The Waqf Amendment Act 2025 has been published in The Gazette of India with the Gazette ID CG-DL-E-05042025-262316 and has now been converted into a law. This is the notification No. 14 which has been issued from New Delhi on SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 2025/CHAITRA 15, 1947 (Saka). The hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu has given her assent to the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 which was earlier passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on 3rd April 2025 and 4th April 2025 respectively.
After the Presidential assent, The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 has become a law. The legislation was passed in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, with 288 members supporting it and 232 against it. Moreover, the legislation was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Friday with 128 members supporting it and 95 against it.
