Yashaswini Scheme in Karnataka Budget 2025-26

On 7th March 2025, Finance Minister presented Karnataka Budget 2025-26. While delivering the Karnataka Budget Speech 2025-26, the hon’ble Finance Minister of Karnataka said “700+ network hospitals have registered under the Yashaswini Scheme so far and 59,000 beneficiaries across the State have received treatment in these hospitals at a cost of Rs. 103 crore.”

Who is Eligible for Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme?

Any member of a Co-operative society (rural and urban), a self-help group (organized by Co-operatives) Co-operative fishermen, Co-operative beedi workers, and Co-operative weavers, who have completed at least 3 months as a member of Co-operative society can become members under the Yeshasvini scheme by paying the prescribed annual membership contribution. Eligible family members can also join the scheme by paying annual membership contribution.

For the purpose of the Yeshasvini scheme “family” means the principle applicant, his/her father/mother, husband/wife, sons, unmarried daughters, daughters-in-laws and their grandchildren (Children of sons). Maximum limit of Rs. 5 lakh per year per family has been fixed for treatment expenses under Yeshasvini Health Insurance Scheme.

What is Yashaswini Card?

Member family will be provided a plastic card with an unique ID number namely Yashaswini Card, which enables them an access to cashless treatment at Yeshasvini network hospitals across the State. Members can avail 1650 different treatment procedures and 478 ICUs totaling to 2128 procedures. Treatments available for heart-related diseases, ENT, intestinal diseases, nerve-related diseases, ophthalmology, orthopedics, women-related diseases, and so on.

The Yeshasvini trust recognizes the importance of family in healthcare and extends coverage to eligible family members of the primary member.
